Covered in Paint

Whew!

Our house is slowly coming together

  It took us three days

And a lot of hard work

But the living room is finally painted.

We did get some help from our family

 Which was awesome because...

I'm not sure how we would have done it all without them.

While we were hard at work

We were rockin' it out to the GLEE soundtracks.

I think the dogs are a little tired of all the home improvements.

Little L

March 13th was Lorelai's birthday!  I know it seems silly to remember the birthday of your dog...but she's really like my little baby...at least she thinks she is!  I'm pretty sure Lorelai thinks she's a human and can do all the things people can do.  She is one spoiled pup, that's for sure!

Lorelai on the day we picked her up...

Now she's lazy and would sleep in our bed all day if we let her...

12.  Making new friends and getting to hang out with old friends who have moved away.

13.  A few unexpected surprise house projects that my husband worked on while I was away.

14.  A working washer and dryer so I can finally do laundry in my own house.

15.  Blogging while eating ice cream and sitting in my bed.

Blessings

Sometimes I get so caught up in all the craziness of my life that I forget how blessed I actually am.  It seems like I think about all the things I "need" or want and don't seem to notice the things I have.  I've seen similar type things on several blogs...lists of gifts and blessing.  While I don't want to just copy other people's blogs, I think its kind of nice to list out the big and small things that God has given me.  My goal is to sit down weekly and think about things I have been thankful for.  So here goes...my list of blessings, in no particular order (well...except maybe the first two).

1.  God...the Father who sent his only son to die for me when I definitely did not deserve it.

2.  An amazing husband.  Josh loves me, provides for me, and lets me go to bed at 9:00 some nights even though he thinks that's way too early.

3.  My wonderful job.  In our current economy I feel so thankful that I have a job that I love and a great group of crazy kids to teach every day.

4.  A great family...my biological family and the family I married into.

5.  My home.  Even though it hasn't looked its best for the past three weeks, its a place to keep me warm and dry.

6.  Church family...old and new faces that I love seeing each Sunday morning.

7.  My awesome mom who did my laundry for me this weekend when I still didn't have a washer and dryer hooked up.

8.  Sitting on the couch, eating dinner and watching tv with J.

9.  Lunch with friends on a Sunday afternoon.

10.  Spring and the hopes of warm weather to come!

A work in progress

Tomorrow will be three weeks since the great flood.  Its been really annoying trying to live in our house in its current condition.  The floors are torn up and our kitchen furniture is scattered around the house.  We finally received our check from Nationwide this week so the renovation process has begun!

We decided to upgrade our kitchen floors from linoleum to tile.  We figured it would be better for resale value, plus J hated the floor anyway. We picked out tile and the tile guys came today to lay it all.  They have to come back tomorrow and put in the grout, clean it, and seal it so its not complete yet.  But for now I guess we'll continue to go out to eat for our meals!
This is what my living room currently looks like...
That would be the oven and dryer...in the living room.
You can almost reach the fridge from the couch!
While we were tile-ing our kitchen we thought "what heck, let's do the bathroom too!"

Next up...drywall in the laundry room and new carpet!!
