Spring Break

It's no secret that teachers love Spring Break.  I love my students and my job, but its nice to have a week to just chill and relax.  I believe all professions should have a Spring Break....it would make for happier employees I'm sure.

I kicked off the start of my break with a stop by Sonic for a strawberry limeade.  I also brought home some beautiful flowers that have been growing in our classroom garden.  My students planted the bulbs back in October and we've been enjoying them for the past two weeks.  I decided to go ahead and cut them and enjoy them at my house this week since I don't think they'll last much longer in the garden.

Baby Chicks

My class at school had a chance to house an incubator and hatch some baby chicks.  It took about three weeks of constantly reminding the kids that they chicks weren't ready to hatch yet.  Haha!  After the second day some of them could swear they saw a couple eggs wiggling around.  

Monday morning we arrived at school and three of the eggs had hatched!  By Tuesday we had four more baby chicks.

Today the chicks had to go home with their owners and we were all a little sad.  I have to say though, it will be a lot quieter in the classroom now that all the little chicks are gone.

Weekend highlights

I mostly just wanted to share my new favorite picture of Lorelai.  On Friday we drove with the windows down and the sunroof open because it was simply gorgeous!  But of course in true SC weather we are now getting a cold front with highs in the lower 50's for the remainder of the week.
We had a couple other things keeping us busy this past weekend as well.  J, his dad, and his brother worked all day in the yard getting it ready so we can put sod down in a week or two.  Our backyard is a disaster and I'll be so happy with we have pretty grass back there.
I ran errands while the guys were working in the yard.  Things like getting my taxes done, visiting BG at work, and having lunch with my parents.  While I was out and about I noticed a magnet had been placed on the back of my car.  I promptly removed the magnet but when I got home I put it on the back of J's car.  You see, BG might be going to Clemson in the fall and she thought it would be funny to place magnets on the backs of her Carolina friend's cars.

On Sunday I finally, FINALLY got started on cleaning out the front bedroom so we would actually have a place for Baby Parks to live.  If you just looked in the room you would think I didn't get anything done, but I cleaned out his entire closet.  Well, except for my wedding dress and he's just going to have to get over that because I simply have no other place to put it.  Ha!  I hope to get more work done in there this weekend so we can paint soon.  The paint is already purchased and just waiting in the garage to be used.

30 weeks

How far along:  30 weeks
Total weight gained/lost:  Let's just say I weigh more now than I have ever weighed in my life!
Maternity clothes:  I've discovered that I need to go shopping for short sleeve clothes now that the weather is warming up and I haven't had to wear my short sleeve clothes since October
Stretch marks:  nope
Sleep:  I sleep really well once I get comfortable...I'm mostly sleeping on my left side hugging that body pillow.  The issue I have is trying to turn over in the middle of the night.  I'm sure it's not a pretty sight.
Best moment of the week:  Ok so this one isn't really going to answer the question because it's more like the worst moment of the week...little Baby Parks has decided to move into a spot that causes and pinching feeling on my sciatic nerve.  It pretty much feels like someone is stabbing me in the butt with a knife every time I take a step.  Move over baby!  Haha.
Movement:  He moves around a good bit now, even when I haven't been laying perfectly still.  He even had the hiccups the other day.  
Cravings: Well, I'm really into strawberries right now
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs:  nope
Belly button in/out:  It's kinda looking a little flat with one edge poking out
What I miss: Ultrasounds.  Its been awhile since I've seen the little guy.
What I'm looking forward to:  My doctor's appointment on Thursday
